Kurdistan Health Staff Syndicate

Kurdistan Health Workers’ Syndicate
The Kurdistan Health Workers’ Syndicate is an extension of the Kurdistan Professional Health Workers’ Syndicate, which was established on January 25, 2009, following the unification of two separate unions — the Kurdistan Health Workers’ Syndicate (Sulaimaniyah) and the Health Professionals’ Syndicate (Erbil).
The Health Professionals’ Syndicate was first founded on April 25, 2000, holding its first congress at the Media Hall, during which it formed its High Council and General Committee.
Similarly, the Kurdistan Health Workers’ Syndicate held its first congress on September 13–14, 2000, at the Raparin Hall in Sulaimaniyah, where it established its Executive Office and Secretariat.
After nine years of both unions operating independently, a unification conference was held on January 20, 2011, marking the official merger of the two syndicates. During this process, regional conferences were organized to elect 200 representatives for the second general congress of the syndicate.
The election process for the regional conferences was supervised by over 30 civil society organizations, with a voter participation rate of 87%.
Ultimately, the Health Workers’ List succeeded in obtaining the majority of the votes.
